Welcome back to Chat Sh*t Get Fit and welcome to our brand new series "Is It Bad For You?" A series where we are going to explore numerous things in the industry exploring the science and our own thoughts to come to a conclusion if something is indeed bad for you!

We start with a big one! Artificial sweeteners and energy drinks get a lot of stick as being "full of chemicals" that "rot the body" "give you cancer" basically a magnitude of undesirable health effects...The question is...are these claims backed the evidence or is it simply a case of a fear of chemicals and misinformation spreading like wildfire. Are 4-5 cans of diet coke going to mess you up? Is a can of Monster Energy going to rot your insides? Is caffeine in energy drinks more dangerous than that of coffee? We look at recommendations from various health organisations as well as the current scientific literature and by the end, you'll be equipped with the knowledge to tackle any "Facebook Warriors" in the future in reference to this topic.
