Is It Bad For You?! White Bread, Rice & Pasta (Toxic Rice?!)

Welcome back to Chat Sh*t Get Fit - Is It Bad For You? This week we go full carbohydrate and explore the world of white bread, rice and pasta commonly associated with being bad, especially in comparison to their brown/wholewheat/wholegrain varieties. The question is - is there any validity to this? Well, it's not as simple as yes and no BUT there is one key difference that when looking at the research could make a big difference to your overall health going forward.

 

We also dive into your responses to our Instagram polls and wow, you lot really are passionate about bread, rice and pasta...We then explore the key macro/ingredient differences between the white and brown varieties to see if there's any real difference. We finish by taking a closer look at rice and the fact it contains inorganic arsenic a toxic compound. As with most things, "the poison is in the dosage" and it's not as scary as it sounds but it's worth knowing about.
